Emotional Eating
At some point in time we have learned that food can provide short-term comfort this is the second part of the definition of emotional eating. For example when you broke up with your first boyfriend and your friends came over with gallons of ice cream in hand. This experience teaches you that when you are upset food can make you feel better.
Another example of the definition of emotional eating may be that you trained and trained for a sport but did not make the team so you sit at home after school eating instead of exercising. Feelings of depression or sadness or anger can be big triggers to emotional eating as stated in the definition of emotional eating.

Once an individual knows what triggers the bad habit of eating then the individual can begin to use more appropriate techniques to manage emotional problems. Weight gain and food need to be taken out of the unhealthy equation.
According to the definition of emotional eating there are certain situations that may cause emotional eating. The situations may be social, physiological, situational, social and thoughts. When trying to figure out which situations cause you to emotionally eat you should keep a food diary. A food diary should be a record of what and when you eat. Also, keep track of the stress in your life, your current emotions and your thought process. This will help you to identify problems fairly easily. Emotional eating is a disorder that can be corrected according to the definition of emotional eating.
The definition of emotional eating states that an individual who emotional eats does not have to be stuck in this unhealthy rut. Remember that you have the power to change your own behavior. With time emotional eating and unnecessary weight gain can be a problem of the past. Redefine the definition of emotional eating by ending the cycle.
